Oh my god! A day i’d longed for for years : The return of the mighty Skunk Anansie ! What better place to relaunch than at the venue they started at all those years back? A bunch of old friends met up before the show in a nearby boozer. We reminisced about the old days. I also made some new friends today from Italy etc ๐Ÿ˜‰ Between myself & Julia, we helped a couple of peeps get into the gig.(Hello Laura ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) Water Rats is super tiny, so the atmosphere was electric. I filmed the show as best i could from next to the P.A. (Note on the sound : someone got tinnitus at this show)

Shit! How the hell could this be the last UK Skunk gig ? I still think they should have “finished” in the UK & not in Portugal…but maybe they didn’t know it was “over” at the time ? Still, at least they got back together in 2009 ๐Ÿ™‚

All my photos from the gig are here…

Edit 2017 ; Another memory has come back to me. There were a few American knuckleheads down the front….or rather, pushing their way down there. Absolute idiots who had no respect for anyone who’d queued for hours to get that spot. Can’t remember if they were there for Rollins or Machine Head, but they were absolute dicks. Talking of M.H. i wasn’t impressed at all. Yet a couple of years later i got into them! Go figure. But whatever, that night, Skunk were bloody fantastic !

The rubbish photo was took by me whilst on stage! Every so often on this tour, towards the end of the show, if Cass started playing a certain bass riff, it was a signal to get the audience up on stage! Obviously, being on front row, i had to do it. It’s rubbish photo as i was more interested in jumping around onstage with Da Skunks (plus, i was using film camera & never really took photos back in the day)
